← Text that listens to us Customers Saving the whole countryCordon and Asphyxiation of Births A nucal cord is a complication that occurs when one or more times. This is common and occurs in approximately 15 to 35 percent of pregnancies. Nucal cords often do not affect the results of pregnancy. However, certain types of nucal cords may pose a significant risk to the baby. Nuchal cords can interrupt the normal exchange of blood, nutrients and oxygen. This can lead to a variety of , including , a form of brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation around birth time (1). Umbilical cord wraps around the baby's neck interrupt normal blood, nutrients and oxygen exchange lesions of childbirthhipoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)If a nucal cord is present, doctors should carefully monitor and manage this condition. In some cases, infants with nucal cord can be delivered vaginally (there are specific maneuvers that can help prevent complications). However, there are circumstances in which an emergency Caesarean or caesarean section is required (2). It is essential that the medical team that manages a pregnancy be qualified in the management of complications such as nucal cords. It's medical negligence if doctors don't properly monitor and treat the mother and the baby, or don't follow. If the baby is hurt, this is it. It is essential that the medical team that manages a pregnancy be qualified in the management of complications such as the medical malpractice nucal cordWhat is a nucal cord? A nucal cord is a common but potentially dangerous complication in which the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck of the fetus. What is a double nucal cord? A double nucal cord occurs when the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby's neck twice. This is also relatively common, which occurs at approximately 27 per cent of births. It is also possible that a nucal cord is wrapped more than twice. Even when the cord is wrapped several times, the baby can be born healthy. However, infants with multiple nucal cords may be at a slightly higher risk of complications such as deteriorated fetal growth and fetal heart rate anomalies (1). Can the umbilical cord strangle the baby? Although rare, the umbilical cord can "strike" a baby by cutting the oxygen flow through the neck to the brain. This may involve the compression of the carotid artery. In addition, the umbilical cord can be contravened or the fetal neck, which reduces the flow of oxygenated blood through the umbilical cord. This can also be very dangerous for the baby (1). Asphyxiation for the cord and birth The umbilical cord is responsible for providing the baby with oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood and carrying deoxigenated, nutrient-depleted blood back to the placenta. If a nucal cord interferes with these processes by compressing the umbilical cord, or restricts the arteries and veins in the fetal neck, this can lead to (fetal oxygen deprivation). The likelihood of asphyxiation and other birth injuries is influenced by the type of nucal cord. Nuchal cords are classified into two main types: Type A Nuchal Cord over "unlocked"Type B Nuchal Cordunder "locked" As mentioned above, a nucal cord may also contain individual or multiple loops; multiple loops may pose a higher risk of fetal complications. Furthermore, the risk of asphyxiation by birth depends on how tight or loose a nucal cord is. If the cord is tighter, the risk of asphyxiation can be higher. It is important to note that the fetal movement can sometimes cause a loose nucal cord initially to tighten (1).tight A nucal cord with fetal hypoxia resulting nasal cords and birth lesions Potential complications and birth lesions resulting from a nucal cord include the following (1):Popoxy-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)Fetal death Intrauterine growth (IUGR)Meconium in the amniotic fluid: Phertal abnormalities of the heart rate Acid of nullary artery A nucal cord may be more likely to form under the following circumstances (1, 2, 3): As the baby's gestational age increases, the likelihood of a nucal cord also increases. Diagnosis of a nucal cord Nuchal cords are often identified during obstetric ultrasound. To identify a nucal cord, doctors look at multiple views of the fetal neck. A nucal cord is diagnosed when the umbilical cord is seen surrounding at least three quarters of the fetal neck. In term, the ultrasound sensitivity to detect the nucal strings is about 70% for the image in grey scale, and 83% – 97% with Doppler color (1). Signs and symptoms of a nucal cord Pregnant women usually do not experience symptoms of a nucal cord. If the nucal cord is affecting the baby's oxygenation, then the baby can start showing as an abnormal heart rate on the fetal monitor (1). Treatment of a nucal cord The main objective in the management of a nucal cord is to prevent during delivery. Preservation of an intact nucal cord will depend on how tight it is wrapped around the baby's neck. A loose nucal cord can easily slip over the baby's head to decrease the traction during the handover of the shoulders or the body. If this is not possible due to stiffness, there is a technique in which the doctor can be able to slide the cord over the baby's shoulders and deliver the baby through the loop. If this is not possible, the doctor can use the apprentice technique, which allows the shoulders and the body to be born in an apprentice, with the cord that breaks down after the baby is delivered. In rare cases, other interventions, such as one, should be performed (1, 3). A delay in the realization of a necessary caesarean section may severely exacerbate the harmful effects of hypoxia and ischemia and may cause serious brain injuries. The doctor and medical team must be very knowledgeable and skilled in managing problems that arise during delivery and the delivery that can deprive the baby of blood and oxygen. The team must be able to act quickly. Failure to properly monitor and treat the mother and baby during pregnancy, work and childbirth is medical negligence. Failure to comply with the standards of care and guidelines, and act skillfully and quickly, also constitutes negligence. If this negligence leads to the injury of the baby, it is a medical negligence.
